The Adult Education Center at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton offers free classes to prepare adults in Conway and Perry Counties to earn a GED. ESL classes are also offered free of charge for anyone at least 18 years of age. For more information, call 215-4904.

Neighbor's Table is a free meal is provided from 12-1 PM every Saturday at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Russellville. Doors open at 11 AM with free coffee. The Arkansas River creates many recreational opportunities for the River Valley to enjoy. Join Lake Dardanelle State Park staff for O.W.L.S., Outdoor Women Learning Skills, a program series designed to give ladies the opportunity to explore the available recreation at Lake Dardanelle and the surrounding area, by learning skills and knowledge needed to enjoy nature. The series will be one evening a month for 6 months and you can come to one, or come to them all! Each month we will cover a new topic. You must pre-register for each class by calling (479) 967-5516 and the $20 registration fee for each night includes dinner. Each workshop will be from 6-9 PM, and space is limited and so register early!

With the Borrow a Park Adventure & Creativity Kit (P.A.C.K.) you get all the tools you need for adventure and creativity neatly packaged in a backpack along with an adventure guide full of ideas on what to do with all the items. Our P.A.C.K.’s can be checked out at the visitor center for a $ 10 fee. You keep the pack for 24 hours and get to keep many of the items for future adventures. Remember that all our programs count toward earning your State Park Explorer Certificate. If you would like more information on this program, ask one of our Park Interpreters.

GO GRAY IN MAY 5K (5/19/18)
The 2nd Annual Go Gray in May 5K will take place Saturday, May 19, starting at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Downtown Church of Christ in Morrilton. Registration is $35 for adults and $30 for kids with a virtual runner option available. Registration can be completed at Proceeds support brain cancer research and care in Arkansas.

Sacred Heart Catholic School's annual Bazaar will be held June First and Second on the school grounds in downtown Morrilton. There will be numerous concession items both nights, including hamburgers, tacos, pizza and ice cream. On Saturday night from five until 7:30, the traditional spaghetti and sausage and turkey and dressing dinner will be served, family style – all you can eat - in the air conditioned gym. Take outs will be available from four until 6:30. Also featured will be various booths and games, including new attractions like video gaming stations, an escape room, Plinko and returning games like Bingo, kiddie land, bounce houses, and much more. The grand prize in the raffle is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the school office, by calling 354-8113 or on the school website, sacred-heart-morrilton-dot-org. Also on that website and on the bazaar's Facebook page, you'll soon be able to find some of the items that will be included in the silent auction and start bidding on certain items prior to the event. All proceeds from the bazaar benefit the school.

Hook, line, and sinker! See if you can catch a fish at Petit Jean State Park. This derby is open to children ages 15 and under. Parents may help, but the kids must do the fishing. This interactive workshop is designed for those using the cloud-based version QuickBooks (Simple Start, Essentials, or Online Plus) to learn to use the payroll features in the desktop version of QuickBooks accounting software. Topics include tracking employee time, issuing paychecks, paying liabilities, and producing required payroll events. A computer with internet access will be provided during the session.
