Registration for the Morrilton Parks and Recreation Department's youth volleyball season is now open. The volleyball league is open to girls in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades. The entry fee is $45 for one child, $75 for two children or $95 for three children in the same family. Registration can be completed at Morrilton Community Center. The deadline is August 19th.

Farmers in Conway, Perry and Faulkner Counties have until August 23rd to apply for the Emergency Conservation Program to provide cost-share assistance for debris removal, fence replacement and other similar measures related to the recent historic flooding. Applications and more information are available at the Farm Service Agency in Morrilton or by calling 354-2000 ext. 2.

The 2019 Pope County Fair Pageants will take place September 7th at the Atkins High School Auditorium. The 14-17 and 18-23 year-old divisions are open to single female who are residents of Pope County and the entry fee is $50. The divisions for girls up to age 13 and for boys from 0-3 and 4-and-up are open to all Arkansas residents and the entry fee for those pageants is $35. The deadline to register is August 30th. The Morrilton High School Class of 1979 will have its 40 year reunion on October 12th at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Morrilton. The cost is $25 per person and the deadline to sign up is September 1st. For more information, call 208-2733 or 889-3403.

Knights of Columbus Council 10908 in St. Vincent is sponsoring its annual annual spaghetti and meatball supper on Saturday (8/17/19), starting at 5:00 p.m. Meals are $10 per person, $5 for children age 5-12 and free for kids age 4 and under. Adult take-out meals will also be available for $10. There will also be a bake sale to raise money for the Knights of Columbus Persons with Disabilities Fund.

The Sixth Annual Petit Jean Mountain Canoe/Kayak Race sponsored by the Petit Jean Extension Homemakers will be held Saturday (8/31/19) from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Lake Bailey. Registration is $15 and you can bring your own watercraft or rent one from the park. Prizes will be awarded for best themed costumes, as well as to the race winners. Shirts will be sold, and there will be a raffle for a kayak.
